How to Make Paneer Tikka Sandwich

Step 1: Prepare the marinade

Take thick curd in a bowl. Add ginger-garlic paste, red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, chaat masala, lemon juice and salt. Mix everything until smooth..

Step 2: Marinate the paneer

Add the paneer cubes, onion and capsicum to the marinade. Mix gently so that the masala coats the ingredients evenly. Leave them to marinate for about 15 minutes..

Step 3: Cook the filling

Heat oil in a pan. Add the marinated paneer and vegetables. Cook over medium heat for a few minutes until the vegetables soften slightly and the paneer develops light golden edges. Avoid overcooking, as paneer can become firm..

Step 4: Assemble the sandwich

Spread green chutney on one side of each bread slice. Add the paneer tikka filling. If you like cheesy sandwiches, sprinkle some grated cheese over the filling and cover it with another slice of bread..

Step 5: Toast until crispy

Lightly butter the outside of the bread. Place the sandwich on a heated tawa or grill pan and toast both sides until golden and crispy. Keep the heat moderate so the bread does not burn before the filling is heated through..

Step 6: Serve hot

Cut the sandwich diagonally and serve immediately with green chutney or tomato ketchup..Tips to Make Your Paneer Tikka Sandwich Taste Better

- Use thick curd: Runny curd can make the filling watery and prevent the masala from coating the paneer properly.

- Do not overcrowd the pan: Cook in batches if needed so the filling browns rather than steams.

- Keep the chutney thick: Excess moisture can make the bread soggy.

- Add cheese carefully: A little grated cheese gives a creamy texture without overpowering the tikka flavour.

- Toast just before serving: The sandwich tastes best while the outside is crisp and the filling is warm..

Variations You Can Try

Spicy street-style sandwich: Add extra green chilli and a little chaat masala..Cheesy paneer tikka sandwich: Add mozzarella or processed cheese before grilling..Whole-wheat version: Use whole-wheat bread for a different texture and flavour..Vegetable-loaded sandwich: Add finely chopped carrots or other vegetables that cook quickly..
